Description
This bill (french “guisarme”, italian “ronca” or “roncone”) is inspired by early 16th century examples found in France, England and Italy. Is it made of hard but flexible rubber and has a realistic painted finish.
At 80 cm in total length, this is Arcem’s most ambitious and advanced pole arm design and uses a unique composite approach. To maintain the proper balance of safety and rigidity (for proper application of techniques), it has a more rigid core over which the bill is molded than most polearm simulators. This gives the synthetic simulator a more rigid body, that springs back to straight.
Please note that the points on this simulator are intentionally NOT thickened. If you intend to use them in harness with a risk of passing through the visor, we recommend that you blunt the tips as you would on your steel simulators. A specific blunt is under development.
We recommend that you mount this simulator on an oval 2.5 x 3.5cm haft, and to add a blunt thrusting tip to the heel. Shafts should be sourced at your local lumber store.
Dimensions:
- Length: 80 cm
- Forward hook: 15 cm
- Back spike: 10 cm
- Socket: 2.5 cm x 3.5 cm
- Suggested shaft length (not included): 160 cm

This range of simulators is developed for HEMA by Black Armory. The synthetic material allows for vigorous use of the simulator while providing possibilities for customization (painting, some reshaping, etc.). These last characteristics also make these products excellent for parallel uses: re-enactment, stage, cinema, or even cosplay. (Haft sold separately)
Please note that the painted finish varies from simulator to simulator, and may not exactly match displayed product images.
